THE PRESENCE OF GOD

God yearns for each of us to come to the place where His presence in our life is of the utmost importance. God walked in the garden in the cool of the day as Adam and Eve hid from Him. They were hiding from His presence. They were afraid because they were naked and they hid themselves. How do you think that they knew they were naked? I believe that the act of disobedience (the sin) immediately caused the glory that Adam and Eve were clothed with to vanish. They were not used to being without a covering and that was frightening to them. The covering of the sweet presence of God is like nothing else. There is a peace that passes all understanding. It can only come from God. When we are disobedient and commit sin, our relationship with God changes. You cannot be walking in sin and walking with God.

Luke 16:13 says, "No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one and despise the other."

We need to realize that nothing is worth the price of sacrificing our peace with God. Jesus has paid the price for you to live in the wonderful and peaceful presence of God. The enemy would make temptation seem so attractive. His evil goal is to pull you away from the presence of God in your life. No amount of success or money or relationship is worth damaging your walk with God. As we go through every day, let us realize that we must judge our actions. We must live according God's Word. I pray that anything in your life that is separating you from God be removed. It is so very easy to get back on track. The Lord is closer than the air you breathe. You just have to make the choice. Start now! The Bible says that God is mindful of the sparrow as it falls to the ground. That doesn't mean when a sparrow dies and falls out of the sky. This scripture is referring to every time a sparrow lands to get a drink of water or to scoop up a grain of birdseed. The Father is mindful of every little hop of the sparrow. You are of great value to God.

Matthew 10:29-31, "Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows."

Always know that you are loved. If you are away from His presence in any area of your life, He is seeking you now. It doesn't matter what you have done. Just turn your back on the thing that is causing the problem and turn to God. He loves you. I pray that you will obey and run back to God's wonderful presence.

Let Him be your Shepherd. He will cause things in your life to come together again. As you read Psalm 23, I ask the Lord to flood you with His presence and draw you closer to Him in every area of your life.

Psalm 23: "The Lord is my shepherd: I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou annointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
