TAKE A BREAK

It is a good thing to just stop and take time out of your busy day to focus on the Lord. When I say stop, I mean that all of the energy that is channeled towards your daily goals or current projects must be halted. Just the quiet feeling of putting everything on hold for a few minutes and taking a deep breath is refreshing, but when you focus on the Lord in this quiet state you are not only refreshed on the outside, but on the inside. Psalm 23:1-3, "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul…" There is a restoration and refreshing that can only come from Him. All we have to do is make ourselves available.

Many of our lives are full of responsibility. Some of us are raising children. Some of us are caring for elderly parents. There are people reading this that are single handedly carrying their companies to success. Whatever your daily routine, always be conscious of the fact that you need to be refreshed spiritually as you go through your day. We all have daily duties. One of those responsibilities is the care of our spirit. When you make a conscious effort to take a break and spend time with the Lord, you are caring for your inner man. There are so many good and necessary things that you can busy yourself with everyday, but just because something is good doesn't make it eternal. Incorporate some eternal activities into your daily routine. Several spiritual breaks consisting of a short reading, listening to some anointed music or just talking to the Lord would be a great place to start. If you are not presently using this concept, start with only one or two times a day. I promise you will be increasing these precious moments as time goes on.

The concept of deliberately taking time to focus on the Lord several times a day should not be taken as a substitute for your reading and prayer time. I strongly encourage that you have a designated prayer, reading and worship time everyday. Our time with the Lord is vital. Life is short. James 4:14, "Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." Do all you know to do, keeping your priority eternal and your spirit in worship and become a stronger Christian with peace in your life.
